Young People's Services

Respect's Young People's Services (YPS) focus on teenagers' use of violence in close relationships (ie to boyfriends, girlfriends, siblings and parents).   Respect launched a toolkit for working with young people at the beginning of 2011 and this piloted and evaluated in 5 projects across the UK.   

The 5th National Practitioner's Network

The 5th Young People's Service Practitioner's Seminar was held in Nottingham on 5th October 2011 in conjunction with the Nottingham Domestic Violence Forum.  We provided a range of presentations and workshops around new and effective practice in the sector.   Some of the presentations on the day are available to download here:

Working with young peoples' violence in close relationships 5 day training course

This five day course will equip practitioners to use the Respect toolkit on working with young people’s violence in close relationships. The toolkit has been developed and piloted in a wide range of settings and is used across the UK with 13-19 year olds. The toolkit includes guidelines for assessment and safe working practice as well as practical exercises for working one to one and in groups (including a DVD of discussion-stimulus materials. The training will include full access to the online toolkit and the accompanying DVD materials. The date for the next course is:
